Second Opinion

When you get a medical diagnosis and treatment plan from your doctor, it's a good idea to consider getting a second opinion from another health care provider. This can help you better understand your health and feel more confident about your treatment.

Getting a second opinion means asking another doctor to review your diagnosis and treatment plan. It's not about questioning your current doctor, but rather getting extra reassurance and information to make informed decisions about your health.

A second opinion can confirm that your diagnosis is accurate and that the suggested treatment is suitable for you. It's like having an extra layer of protection to ensure you're on the right track for your health.

How does the second opinion process work?

  1. Once you select a specialty and select “Get started” you will be directed to a secure portal where you will have the options to sign in, create an account or begin the process as a guest.
  2. You will complete the electronic questionnaire and upload any relevant documents or imaging related to your condition through this secure portal. Payment will be requested.
  3. Once payment is received, your case will then be sent to a coordinator who will review all of your information. The coordinator may contact you for additional information.
  4. Once the coordinator verifies that the surgeon has all the necessary information to review your case, your case will be assigned to the most appropriate surgeon for your condition.
  5. Within 7-10 business days, you will receive a notification that your second opinion is available in the secure portal for review.
