Shelley Benson RN, MSN, CCRN-K

Shelley BensonMy journey to Banner started 24 years ago when I moved to Wyoming. After working as an RN for two years, I accepted an ICU position at Wyoming Medical Center. It was my dream job, and I was grateful for the opportunity. I loved working in the ICU so much that I stayed there for 20 years! Thanks to the support and encouragement from my organization's leaders, those years were filled with both personal and professional growth. While working as a charge nurse in ICU, I completed my master's degree in Clinical Nurse Leadership in 2018 and became a part-time nursing instructor for the University of Wyoming. I eventually decided to leave bedside nursing in 2019 to become Senior House Manager on the night shift.

As a Senior Manager, I interact and work with every department in the hospital. I am constantly amazed by the dedication and resilience I see in my fellow Banner employees. Every day I get to witness displays of kindness and compassion. Patients are the top priority, and our interdisciplinary team ensures the delivery of the highest quality care possible. I am very proud to have a leadership role in such a positive and healing environment.
